Sure-fire tips to make an effective learning schedule for kids

November 4, 2022 by Steph Leave a Comment

Gone are the days when kids had free time. Today, they have a lot on their plates. They must attend school, participate in extracurricular activities, and complete their homework while contributing to the community.

Consequently, they do not find the energy to crack open books to study and complete their homework. There could be a myriad of reasons for it; some children lack interest, while others are distracted due to other activities at home.

So, how can you let your kids concentrate on their studies and follow an effective learning schedule?

Well, we have the answer to this. This article mentions sure-fire ways that keep kids motivated toward their academics! Read on!

  • Appreciate them their effort

As parents, you might think that appreciating your kids for their efforts might push them to lose their focus. However, it is not the truth. Kids love to hear appreciation and get rewards when they give in their best to complete any action. Therefore, experts suggest indulging in regular praise and rewarding them to celebrate their achievements.

It could be verbal recognition to show them that you are noticing their effort. Moreover, some people use fake diplomas or appreciation certificates to celebrate their success, such as getting the desired marks or sticking to their schedule for more than three weeks. It gives the kids a sense of belongingness.

  • Make use of Learning Technology

Today, we are all surrounded by technology. And the Internet is playing a significant role in preparing children for the future. Many kids find it hard to understand concepts at school. You can use interactive and fun digitech ways to teach them the same. For instance, if your kid is afraid of doing math homework, it would be best to use an Edtech video game that provides math practice.

Similarly, you can find games, fun activities, and entertaining yet educational apps on the internet that help make learning fun for kids. So, you might as well teach the kids to navigate through the internet for educational purposes. Moreover, you can control the usage by setting appropriate limits and monitoring it regularly.

  • Regular Short Breaks

It is not about how long the kid sits to study; instead, how effectively they look is the focus. You must not expect your child to sit long hours at a stretch and produce great results. Many people use the Pomodoro Technique to increase their productivity. It is working for 25 minutes and taking a minute breather. Technically, it does wonders in boosting productivity.

You can also try the same for your kids. You do not necessarily need to stick to it; some children may need 10-15 minutes of a breather after 40 minutes. You should try different things and stick with the best one for your child. They can utilize this time to stretch, take a walk, grab a snack, or relax.

Bottom Line

School success is the focus now because they offer a variety of courses now. Therefore, it is essential to set an effective learning schedule for children. It should be balanced enough to let them relax and be productive in their studies. Also, good study habits prepare children to be lifelong learners.
