Prepare for Graduate School With These 5 Tips

June 10, 2021 by Steph Leave a Comment

Maybe you are in college right now, working hard to earn your bachelor’s degree, but you know you’ll need an advanced degree to get the job you really want. Or perhaps you are working at a career that isn’t really going anywhere, and you have decided to pursue a master’s degree to secure a better job and salary.

Either way, graduate school is in your future. To make the transition into graduate school as easy as possible, the following tips and words of advice may help.

Research Lots of Schools

You don’t want to choose the first graduate school that pops up in a Google search, and you don’t necessarily want to follow in your favorite uncle’s footsteps by applying to the program he went to 15 years ago. Instead, come up with a list of about 20 schools that offer the program you want and then start looking into the classes that they offer. You should be able to pull up the school’s course catalogue online; this will help you to see the curriculum and classes and if they appeal to you.

Visit the Schools You Like the Most

Once you have it narrowed down to maybe three graduate schools, it’s time to start visiting campuses in person. Just as you toured universities when you were in high school, it is important to do the same now. Check out the town around the campus to see if you like the overall vibe, and also investigate housing options and prices.

Work on Your Balance

If you are planning on working when you are in school and also staying on top of other commitments, it is important to get your school-life-work balance in order. As Mental Health America notes, start by being as efficient with your time as you can. Set reasonable goals that you can achieve; this will help you to feel more in control of your day. When you are done with school and work for the day, allow yourself the luxury of unwinding and saying “no” to a bunch of activities that may be fun, but will also cause you to skimp on sleep. The sooner you can get your current responsibilities into a healthier balance, the easier the transition to graduate school will be.

Become a Master Note Taker

While you might be tempted to take your laptop into your classes, learning to take really great notes by hand is a solid idea. Your pen will never run out of power, and as you write down what the professor is saying, your mind may retain the info better than if you are hastily tapping on your keyboard. Practice taking notes now by hand, either in your classes or when watching a cooking or other tutorial video on YouTube. As College Info Geek notes, the outline is a simple and easy way to take notes; to do this, you’ll choose four or so key points that the lecture will cover and then beneath each one you’ll write more in-depth sub notes.

Remember, This Will Not Last Forever

While you know that there are many reasons to get an MBA or other advanced degree, you may feel overwhelmed at times. When this happens, remember that graduate school will not last forever. You won’t have to juggle all of your responsibilities for the rest of your life; once the program ends and you have your advanced degree, you can go back to focusing primarily on your career, friends and family.

Enjoy the Process

Yes, there will be some long days (and nights) when you are in graduate school, but you have what it takes to get through them. By doing in-depth research on schools, both online and in-person, you will know you are in the right program for you. Then, start working on your school-life-work balance now, improve your ability to take notes by hand and remind yourself whenever you need to that all of this is temporary. If you do, you should find that graduate school is a positive and worthwhile experience that can lead to a better career.

7 Ways Office 365 Training Improves Team’s Productivity

May 26, 2021 by Steph Leave a Comment

Microsoft Office 365 is a big step up from previous versions of the software. It’s built specifically to improve productivity, but that can only happen if your teams are skilled in using it. The best way to do that is through Microsoft Office 365 training. But what are the main benefits of this training? Let’s find out.

What are Microsoft Online courses?

Firstly, a quick introduction to Office 365. If you’ve ever worked with a computer in any type of job, you’ve likely encountered Microsoft Office. The suite of business tools includes Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and much more. However, the newest version of Office 365 brings in a whole new range of business tools for collaboration, communication and even document storage. Also, Office 365 is cloud-based, meaning you can log in from anywhere and access your documents and tools.

So, Office 365 online courses are all about learning the new system. For businesses, it’s a chance to get your entire business set up on Office 365 software and push your organisation towards better productivity. Because the list of included business tools is so extensive, it means you can run almost all parts of your business with Office 365. But with that change comes the need for comprehensive training. Studying Microsoft online courses gives you the flexibility to plan your training in a cost-effective and flexible way that doesn’t impact heavily on daily operations. Plus, everybody in your business will be on the same page and have the same training on your new systems.

Here are some of the specific ways that Microsoft Office 365 training improves a team’s productivity.

1. More effective communication

Office 365 is packed with communication tools that haven’t been seen in older versions of the software. There are instant messaging tools, email and more. For example, there is Outlook, the most widely used email client in the world. However, being cloud-based, you can now access email from anywhere rather than just your desktop PC. This is huge for hybrid workplaces or teams who work at different geographic locations.

You also have chat features and project groups in Microsoft Teams, which is Office 365’s collaboration tool. There are instant messaging features in Teams, making it easy for team members to get in touch, share information or ask questions and get a response quickly.

In addition, there is Yammer, which is almost like a forum or an internal social media program. Everybody can use it, and it’s a great way to communicate with your colleagues.

2. All team members are multi-skilled

The great benefit of an Office 365 course is that all your staff will be evenly skilled. Naturally, some will be better at some functions than others. But everybody gets a good understanding of the basics and can use all the tools they need to. In some teams, you’ll find there’s one person that everyone turns to for help with using certain types of software. But after everyone completes the same Microsoft training courses, they should all be able to work at a similar level.

When all staff members in a team are skilled across a variety of work functions, productivity naturally increases. It gives you flexibility in work assignment, and if your whole organisation uses Office 365, people can move between teams more easily.

3. Understanding cloud technology

It seems like everything is moving to the cloud now. There are plenty of reasons for this, namely accessibility, convenience and security. However, workplaces still using older versions of Microsoft Office may be completely unfamiliar with cloud-based technology. But with so many other software programs moving to the cloud, it’s beneficial for your teams to have a good understanding of how it all works.

Certainly, the general operation of cloud-based technology is a bit different to software that’s stored on specific servers. So, as your business moves towards cloud-based software, you want your teams to have a good understanding. By arranging Office 365 training for your staff, you give them great exposure to cloud technology. The whole idea of cloud software is to improve efficiency and productivity, so if your teams can master it, the better off you’ll be.

4. A more collaborative team

Collaboration is one of the most important features of Office 365. No longer do you need to send attachments, wait for feedback and then get the attachment sent back. With Office 365, you can have several people working on a document together at the same time. Using some of the many communication tools within 365, staff can discuss and view a document during a video call and make changes as they go.

The idea of making documents freely available on the cloud may be foreign to some staff, but it drastically improves productivity. That’s why Office 365 online courses are essential if you’re adopting this technology. When everybody understands collaborative documents, they benefit more from the technology.

Plus, there are collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, which can feature permanent team groups or even groups for specific projects. Everything your people need is all in one place, and productivity goes through the roof.

5. Teams can do more with existing technology

Microsoft Office is one of the most widely used pieces of software in the world. Most businesses use some of the tools on a daily basis, so if you’ve decided to switch to Office 365, your staff will need proper training. Essentially, you’ve been using these programs for years, but now there are just a few tweaks. However, a shift to Office 365 presents a great opportunity to upskill your staff.

You’ve already got the software, and it’s available to all of your staff. So, why not give them the skills and knowledge to use it more effectively?

6. Build a culture of learning

When all staff attend or complete similar training, it creates a feeling of togetherness. No longer is there the one person everyone goes to for spreadsheet help, because everybody is skilled in that area. But when everybody completes the same training, they have a shared experience centred around learning and development. Nobody feels left behind, and everybody can chip in. This learning culture improves productivity in a number of ways.

Firstly, people are more likely to take ownership of their own learning. If they can’t do something, they can seek out some online help or even complete a short Microsoft training course. This means work can progress more quickly, without waiting for one specific person to become available to help.

Secondly, it’s important to remember that Office 365 is an ever-changing beast. Unlike previous versions of Microsoft Office, the new one is being enhanced continuously. This means there’s an ongoing need for training, and staff will be able to adopt new changes much faster if learning is just part of what they do.

7. Easy to onboard new staff

When you’ve established a solid platform of Office 365 training, onboarding new staff is simple. For one thing, many people already know how to use the software, so they can more easily walk into one of your teams and hit the ground running. If not, that’s ok too, because you’ve already done all the training with your existing staff. That means you’ll know exactly what your new team members need to study to get up to speed.

The other aspect of onboarding made easy by Office 365 is the fact that the software is scalable. As your business grows, so does your software. You can add users easily, give them access to the tools and information they need, and it’s a lot cleaner than having your IT teams set up profiles across multiple software programs.

Online Microsoft training courses improve productivity

Ultimately, you’ll enjoy plenty of productivity benefits from Office 365 training. Plus, studying Microsoft online courses is cost-effective because staff can participate from their desks. They can do shorter courses as time allows, and it makes planning your learning and development so much easier.

===========================================================================

META: Office 365 is new to many companies, and Microsoft online courses are becoming more popular. Here’s how you can boost productivity with Office 365 training.

Financial Analysis Made Easy: Follow These Steps

May 25, 2021 by Steph Leave a Comment

C:\Users\shaikh\Downloads\pexels-pixabay-265087 (1).jpg

Financial analysis is an essential practice in the corporate world used by businesses to evaluate the current and fluctuating economic trends. It helps to build long-term financial strategies and set final policies for business activities. It also assists companies in identifying which parties and projects are worth investing in. The specialists perform financial analysis by using business data and statistics to evaluate the business’s performance.

Understanding Financial Analysis

Financial analysis helps evaluate a company’s data to analyze several factors and present a financial report. Most of the time, businesses get carried away in spending their capital resources. Hence, a financial statement helps them keep a check by providing a clear picture of expected versus real progress. Financial analysis is beneficial for small and large businesses alike. It helps them make decisions that accelerate the business growth and helps in attaining the business objectives more efficiently. However, the key is to hire a professional financial analyst rather than performing it on your own.

If you want to devise an effective financial statement, it is essential to be mindful of the three main factors:

  1. The economic trends of the industry in which your company operates
  2. The structure and type of the financial statement
  3. The strategies/characteristics of your company that sets it apart from the competitors

Are you a financial analyst or a business owner looking to improve financial health? Or a business owner seeking better investment opportunities for your company? Make sure the analysis process follows the following steps for effective results.

1 – Identify the Industry’s Economic Trends

The first step towards financial analysis is determining a chain analysis of the respective market. Without evaluating the activities involved in the planning, producing, and distributing a business’s products and services, it is impossible to assess its financial standing. One reason is that identifying the industrial trends helps financial analysts determine whether your company is getting the products and services from reliable sources.

To further develop your skills and learn the ropes, you may consider enrolling yourself in a diploma or a short course. It is best to enroll in a Master of Accountancy to learn from the experts and use data to compare the current financial records of your business and create a sound comparative study.

2 – Identify Company Strategies

In the next step, financial analysts assess the nature of the products and services offered by your company. It includes evaluating the individuality of your products or services, the level of profit margins. It also provides an assessment of control of costs and brand loyalty amongst the clientele. In addition, it is crucial to consider factors like geography and industrial diversification and supply chain integration.

3 – Evaluate the Quality of the Company’s Financial Statement

Once you identify the economic trends and the firm’s current strategies, the next step is to review the company’s financial statements. However, it is vital to stick to the relevant accounting standards for the evaluation in this step. Financial specialists consider various stages such as valuation, recognition, and classification to examine the balance sheet accounts properly. In addition, assessing the quality of earnings and the cash flow statements helps create strategies that would benefit in the long run. It does so by aiding the financial analysts in developing a better understanding of the impacts of your business’s liquidity in terms of investments, operations, and other economic activities.

4 – Analyze the Current Risks and Profitability

While it might sound like an unnecessary step, this technique adds value to the overall evaluation of your company’s financial statements. Professionals use analysis tools such as asset management, debt coverage, management, financial statement ratios in liquidity, and market risk valuation. To analyze the firm’s profitability, the experts consider factors like the company’s perception in the eyes of its equity stakeholders. The analyst must critically evaluate the financial statement ratios by comparing the current ratios to previous reports and records. Another way is to use the market average ratios for comparative analysis.

5 – Value the Company

Financial Analysts use several approaches such as discounted cash flow like the discounted cash flow methodology to determine the valuation of a business. In this step, experts evaluate the cash flows in projected dividends through techniques like the discounted cash flow methodology. These cash flows are usually detailed, for instance, the free cash flows on an enterprise basis or equity holders. Other valuation techniques include relative valuation and economic value-added.

Conclusion

A financial analyst examines a company’s diverse data, such as its income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets. It proves to be beneficial in devising a verdict on the financial status of the company. The data derived through financial analysis helps make strategic decisions that could increase business growth opportunities.

However, the financial analyst experts need to be show diligence. The reason is that economic analysis has become subject to criticism in the current times due to the recurrent irregularities during the procedure.

The Rise of Online Learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic

May 19, 2021 by Steph Leave a Comment

The Covid-19 pandemic has reshaped lives in several ways. Businesses had to close down physically and switch all operations online. Remote working became the norm, and even the traditional methods of teaching shifted online. With these drastic changes, it was difficult for society to keep up, but we slowly adjusted. However, online learning was a big challenge for many schools.

Preparing lectures and dispatching them on the right platform wasn’t an easy task. In response to the significant demand, many online platforms allowed free access to their services.

However, the pandemic disrupted the education system at large. But at the same time, it also exposed the deep flaws in traditional brick-and-mortar education, such as rote learning instead of focusing on critical thinking. So the question arises, could moving online be the solution for a better and lucrative education system? Here’s what the rise of online learning means for education:

Benefits of Learning Online

There are many reasons why online learning seems to be more effective than traditional schools, and here’s how:

  1. Added Flexibility. Students have the opportunity to learn courses with flexibility. They can study for an online graduate certificate in a short time instead of spending a tremendous amount of time in school. Flexible learning options allow students to pick their timeline and schedule and study at a pace more suitable for their needs. In some cases, students who had part-time jobs found it easier to work and study simultaneously. This added flexibility has made schools far more enjoyable and engaging and even helped students relax and focus steadily on their coursework.
  2. Different Platforms. Students could use resources such as Coursera to start a new degree. Zoom for video conference and learning and even YouTube with pre-recorded lectures. These platforms are available on both laptops and mobile phones.
  3. Better Time Management. It became more accessible for students to be more proactive as they were studying at their pace without any restrictions. Students received emails and assignments with deadlines, allowing them to plan and complete projects. It also allowed students to search for options for their majors and decide what educational path is most suitable for them by comparing the duration of time between each degree.
  4. A Global Perspective. Students who enrolled in online programs got to access resources and programs from around the world. It allowed them to engage in cross-cultural understanding and invite discussion on various topics. It also allowed them to have a healthier and more inclusive educational environment to thrive innovation within classrooms. It has also allowed students to learn about different issues through the personal experiences of other fellow students instead of depending on the internet for information.
  5. Technical Skills. Students had to learn the utilization of digital resources for their coursework. They had to familiarize themselves with new tools and software and deal with any troubleshoot errors that came their way. As the world has become more digital, these skills are lucrative to know. It will also greatly benefit students once they graduate and look for jobs.

The Challenges of Online Learning

Although learning online proved to be much more fruitful than conventional schooling, there will still be some challenges that need addressing. There are some schools and students with poor internet connections and a lack of reliable Wi-Fi. As a result, these students cannot access their lectures or educational resources.

There was also a noticeable gap between privileged and unprivileged students, especially regarding the accessibility of resources. Meanwhile, privileged students found it easier to purchase digital resources and use them for their education. Most underprivileged students didn’t even have access to technological devices such as smartphones and laptops.

So, they were dependent on school-provided resources. This disparity in the way students got their education exposed the cracks in online learning. Some students don’t have privacy and an unsettled domestic environment that keeps them from learning. It also doesn’t help libraries and public spaces be unavailable during the pandemic for such students to use.

What Does This Mean For The Future Of Learning?

There is a range of conflicting arguments about online learning. Some people view it as an unplanned and rapid movement that is more haphazard than structured, given the lack of training, bandwidth, and preparation. As a result, education will suffer greatly, and an online learning platform is not sustainable. However, on the other hand, some people urge that an online platform is the best way forward for learning. They believe that technology will accelerate learning and help students correlate technology with knowledge. Some people also enjoy how convenient and accessible technology has made education, including choosing to go back to school and studying for associate degrees and diplomas in a shorter time. Students have also found it easier to communicate, interact, and learn outside of a classroom environment, making education easier.

In conclusion, technology will become a part of education. Remote learning and working are now the norms, and schools will leverage online platforms and traditional schooling methods. It is safe to assume that hybrid learning models are becoming favorable, and schools may completely shift their business models in that direction.

Wrap Up

Online learning platforms have brought about many benefits. Students could access a range of resources making their routines far more flexible to manage their time and study. Students picked up on technical skills and got sharper with their critical thinking skills. It has allowed students to develop a more global perspective which breeds tolerance.

However, with numerous benefits, there are also other challenges. Not every student can access online learning platforms due to poor internet or lack of similar facilities. Unless the government can remedy this, education will lag. However, the future of instruction after the pandemic seems to be shifting towards a hybrid model.

Should You Get Your Master’s Degree Online?

May 14, 2021 by Steph Leave a Comment

No matter what you want to study, you can get pretty much any degree online these days. (And, thanks to the pandemic, even students in traditional master’s programs have found themselves obliged to take classes online.)

But is it worth it to go back to school for a master’s online? Often, an online master’s will cost just as much as a traditional program, but you can still get a quality education and plenty of networking opportunities. There are plenty of affordable online college courses as well, such as Straighterline. Employers won’t know you earned your degree online unless you tell them.

Weighing the Cost of an Online Master’s

Whether you choose to go to a traditional, brick-and-mortar program, or attend classes online, you’ll have tuition bills to pay. The cost of an online program may not be much lower than that of a traditional program, but you’ll at least save on incidental costs, like moving to be closer to campus, parking and transportation, and even campus meal plans.

Many students manage the cost of an online graduate education by seeking out scholarships or graduate assistant positions. If your company offers tuition reimbursement, you could use it to defray the cost of your degree. You can also take out student loans to finance your graduate education — but before you go into debt, make sure you’re going to earn enough afterward to justify it.

Study Where You Are, on Your Own Schedule

The primary benefit of most online master’s programs is that you can take classes on your own schedule, from wherever you have an internet connection. You can do coursework on the weekends or at night after working your full-time job. Most popular online master’s programs offer asynchronous classes, which means you can review the recorded lecture and other course materials on your own time. That can make earning a master’s degree much more feasible if you have a full-time job, bills to pay, and a family to consider.

Do you get the same education from online courses as you get from traditional programs? Yes — although you might have to be more self-disciplined to succeed in online classes, you’ll have access to the same top-notch professors as students in traditional programs, and you’ll take the same courses that students on campus take. You’ll have even more access to a better education if you choose an online degree, because you can take your classes at pretty much any school if you can take them from home. You can seek out professors you admire at some of the world’s most prestigious universities, and earn a brand-name master’s degree without leaving home.

Nor is there any need to miss out on mentoring and networking opportunities. You might have to make more of an effort to attend synchronous online study groups and keep lines of communication open with your cohort, not to mention taking advantage of professors’ virtual office hours. Many online master’s degree programs offer students the opportunity to network via on-campus events or residency requirements that bring students together on campus for a few weeks of seminars a year.

Presenting Your Degree to Employers

Employers don’t usually mind if you earned your degree online, as long as you got it from an accredited program — and the better the school, the less likely they are to be concerned. And you don’t necessarily have to tell them that you took your classes online, unless they ask. If they do ask, emphasize the time management skills and self-discipline that allowed you to succeed in an online program (while working, if you did so).

Employers might be curious about how you overcame the challenges inherent in distance learning to forge effective mentorship relationships with professors and collaborate with other students. To fully benefit from networking and mentorship opportunities, you’ll want to try and replicate the same opportunities for interaction in your online program as you might have on campus. That could mean anything from online study groups to membership in a group chat, to happy hour drinks over Zoom or in-person meetups with your cohort. You may not be able to participate in every group or event, but finding ways to work together with your classmates will give you something to talk about in interviews later.

An online master’s degree can be well worth the time and money, especially if it’s one that will boost your earning potential after graduation. With strong time management skills and self-discipline, you can earn your master’s degree on your own schedule, and take your career to the next level.

3 Tips For Sharing Your Knowledge Of Hunting With A Friend

April 29, 2021 by Steph Leave a Comment

If you love hunting and would love to teach a friend or loved one all you know about hunting, you might find that you’re both excited and nervous about this experience. But if you’re able to teach your friend effectively, you could help them develop a passion for something that you feel passionately about, too.

To help you see how this can be done, here are three tips for sharing your knowledge of hunting with a friend.

Share More Than Just The Logistics Of Hunting

While it’s vital that you teach your friend the logistics of hunting so that they know what to do and how to use all the necessary gear, Frank Miniter, a contributor to GameAndFishMag.com, shares that you should also be sure to teach them the more nuanced parts of hunting, too.

Some of the soft skills that you can learn from hunting are things like self reliance, responsibility, self esteem, conservation, and much more. So as you think about how you’ll teach your friend the basics of how to hunt, make sure you take some time showing them how hunting can have a positive impact on their rest of their life too, not just with the time they spend out in the wild.

Consider Teaching A Hunter’s Education Course

Sometimes, learning something so expansive as all the ins and outs of hunting can be very intimidating. And because it can take a long time to get a good knowledge base, the editors of Outdoor Life share that you may want to consider teaching a hunter’s education course for a group of people in addition to the one friend that you’re wanting to share your knowledge with.

By choosing to teach a hunter’s education course, you’ll be able to share everything you know about hunting with a whole new generation of hunters and give your friend a more formal education so that things like getting a hunting license and certain certifications will be much easier for them.

Get Them The Right Gear

Getting all the gear necessary for hunting can be very expensive. So if you’re teaching a friend how to hunt and are unsure if they’ll want to invest in all the gear upfront, you’ll still need to make sure that they have the right gear to have a safe and positive experience.

To do this, New Hampshire Fish and Game recommends that you share your gear with them at first. While they can get their own hunting clothes and personal accessories, sharing the bigger items with you likely makes more sense at the beginning of their learning experience.

If you’re wanting to teach a friend or multiple friends how to hunt with you, consider using the tips mentioned above to make the most of this experience.

What Your Child Will Discover In Early Learning Daycare

April 22, 2021 by Steph Leave a Comment

Early learning daycare centres are one of the best starts you can give a child in life. As a parent, you do your best for them at home, but if and when you have to go to work, you want to know your young child is still growing and developing and making the most of every day. This is the experience they’ll have at an early learning centre.

This article will focus on some key points about the benefits of early learning daycare and what your child will learn and discover along their journey at a quality early learning centre.

Art Programs Designed For Child Development

When it comes to quality daytime child care, child care art programs are an important part of the curriculum. What indulging children in art does is help develop the creative faculties of their young minds. Being creative at a young age is important because it expands the capacity of the brain and develops a broader range of thinking in kids, which will continue to develop well into adulthood.

It’s also a good way for kids to discover certain artistic skills that they may be naturally good at, which then leads to more self-confidence and belief. Above all though, art programs are fun to be a part of.

A Child Care Food Program

The best time to learn about living a healthy lifestyle is when young minds are most fertile. That’s why so many early learning centres have a strong focus on healthy child care food programs and teaching kids about nutrition, but in a fun way that they can relate to.

Some centres even go so far as to create vegetable gardens where kids get to plant and grow vegetables and when it comes time to harvest them, an on-site chef makes sumptuous meals out of the very vegetables the children have grown. There’s no better sense of satisfaction for kids when it comes to eating than producing their food, then getting to eat it in a delicious meal. It’s one of the most effective methods there is of teaching children to eat vegetables and they quickly learn to appreciate them.

When you enrol your child in an early learning daycare centre, you can rest assured your child will be fed the most nutritious meals possible and they’ll likely even play a part in producing the food they eat.

Learning Education Basics In Core Subjects

While the focus at early learning daycare centres is for kids to have fun in a safe and secure environment, they will also do some learning when it comes to core subjects such as math, science, English and even the basics in computers. The idea is to give children a bit of a head start before they commence the school years. By the time they do start school, they’ll already have a firm grasp of what these subjects are about.

Developing Self-Confidence and Social Skills

Through interactive activities with everyone else at the early learning centre, your child will develop extremely important social skills, communication skills and self-confidence. These are attributes that will serve them well for the rest of their lives and the earlier they start, the better.

Preparing for the School Years Ahead

“School-readiness” is a term you’ll often hear around early learning centre daycare circles. What does it mean?

It’s all about preparing kids for when they start their official school years. School-readiness encompasses everything related to being ready for school; which includes learning the basics of core subjects, developing self-confidence and social skills, being used to dealing with children their age as well as the adults who care for them (think other students and teachers when in school), proper nutrition, a sense of autonomy and independence and numerous other characteristics.

Once your child has spent some quality time in an early learning centre, by the time they start Grade 1, they’ll enter the school grounds with their head held high and already be feeling quite at home. It will almost be like going to school is second nature to them by the time they arrive for their first day.

Conclusion

Early learning centres are far more than just daycare. Get in touch with an early learning centre near you and discover just how much they can offer you and your child.

Project management is crucial for any modern business as it ensures that risks are properly managed and mitigated before they lead to a crisis. s

A project manager’s role is multi-dimensional; for example, it includes task completion, achieving business goals, and competing in the marketplace. These tasks may seem commonplace and essential parts of any business, but the fact of the matter is that these require hard skills and are all about competence.

It isn’t easy to complete projects within the set deadlines and budget. That’s why most enterprises hire dedicated professionals who are trained to do the job. As a result, project management has become a core practice for organizations looking to excel in these times of constant change. Product optimization, system deployment, process building, process reengineering, new service initiation, software development, and marketing strategies are just a few of the processes that project managers handle.

Back in the day, the success of these projects was measured on productivity and organizational goals, mostly achieving time and budget targets. However, today’s diverse market conditions and global competition necessitate new approaches to using projects as competitive tools.

This makes their job even more challenging for first-time project managers, as their role has drastically changed over the last few years. New technology, trends, and practices have come into play. This means that managers must be well-versed in the latest project management trends, software, techniques, and implementations to be successful at their jobs.

Almost every project begins with a business viewpoint and a target in mind, usually improving performance and playing an important part in the overarching strategy for success. So it’s no wonder that project managers are increasingly expected to concentrate on digitalization, leadership, financial prowess, and so much more.

If you want to become a successful project manager, this guide will help you recognize the key skills required to be a successful project manager. Read on.

Dedicated Leadership Skills

A project manager brings direction to the team and the project, ensuring everything is in place. Without a proper project manager, a team is like a lost ship without a sailor; the boat might be moving with the flow of water, but there is no direction, power, or intention to its movement.

Their leadership encourages and facilitates team members’ best efforts. This guidance and vision are always directed at the team as the project managers ensure that clear borders of responsibility are established among the group with designated tasks and deadlines for everyone.

There’s no doubt who’s in command of a task when you have a project manager to guide it to fruition, even if you are using related tools. Since project managers are solely responsible for the success or failure of these efforts, you can count on them to implement a well-structured process and keep the entire team in line.

Strong Communication Skills

Communication is a dynamic element, and its presence is vital for the successful accomplishment of business goals. Knowing the organization’s vision, mission, and objectives is critical, but presenting them to team members succinctly is much more important.

To communicate your opinions, needs, deliverables, and goals to clients, team members, vendors, and stakeholders, you’ll need strong communication and interpersonal skills.

According to a PMI report, 90% of a project manager’s time is spent on communication – with the clients, the production teams, managing finances, and so much more. Poor communication skills can undoubtedly disrupt the project costs and schedule.

That’s why businesses hire dedicated project managers to ensure good contact for the timely delivery of projects.

Today, most project managers establish groups for making communication more effective with the help of communication tools for conventional spaces. They can also be expected to a diverse range of resources, including social media platforms and emails, to smoothen and strengthen communication. However, in every case, having the right tools at the disposal of the team is essential.

Risk Management Skills

Risk management is a crucial stage of project management. It entails identifying, analyzing, and responding to risk factors throughout the entire project. A project manager should be proficient and competent in risk management to ensure successful delivery.

Given this, the number of project managers incorporating risk management into their projects is steadily growing. If you want to be recognized as a better project manager, you must understand and implement risk management strategies in all that you do.

Time Management Skills

A project may be postponed due to time management or scheduling problems. Project managers practice time control and scheduling to ensure that their assignments get completed on time.

Also, you must know how to successfully organize a staff so that they can work together to accomplish a shared purpose in total unity and unison. It is useful for organizing, delegating, and administering a group of team members in a manner that facilitates collaboration, dispute resolution, performance evaluation, and overall project success.

Problem Solving Skills

Every project has its own set of challenges; some are avoidable, whereas others are inevitable and uncontrollable, such as distance creep and unanticipated threats. At the same time, many other issues could be attributed to poor preparation or execution. As a good project manager, you must have a systematic approach to solving these problems when they arise.

To effectively solve challenges, you can use the following problem-solving steps to ensure that you are on top of the situation:

  1. Identify the problem
  2. Evaluate the causes
  3. Create solutions
  4. Choose the right alternative
  5. Take appropriate action.

Developing expertise to deal with concerns and challenges that arise when working on challenging projects is important for every project manager.

Project Planning And Management Skills

Project management is highly preferred as it keeps everything organized and in place. However, to keep everything in its rightful, you need a plan.

If project management is not well-managed, project deadlines can be set optimistically, leading to late delivery and ultimately over budget.

To be a good project manager, you need to negotiate for reasonable and achievable deadlines. Projects completed and delivered with tight deadlines often compromise the quality of work. A good project manager also focuses on the quality being offered.

Moreover, when it comes to project distribution among the team, a project manager should plan and distribute the tasks through a realistic schedule with objectivity.

It is important to embrace all the skills mentioned earlier and create a clear process for the production team and the client. This will help in the tracking and quality assurance process.

Quality Controlling Skills

The primary purpose of hiring a project manager for any organization is to ensure maximum quality for the clients. The project manager highly emphasizes the organized workflow, which ultimately results in better quality even under enormous pressure.

A dedicated project manager ensures enough time and resources to deliver the designated project and quality-testing the outcome at every stage.

A good project manager should know how to establish gated phases and assess the outcome for quality and the right way to achieve good ROIs

These are not just 7 skills but 7 phases of project management that you need to ace to become a successful project manager.

To get started, here are a few quick tips to help you practice and understand the project management skills:

  1. Note all the project details
  2. Identify the project
  3. Identify the team requirements
  4. Take responsibility for the project
  5. Work with authority
  6. Gain your team’s support
  7. Define complex project milestones
  8. Establish active communication and support lines
  9. Choose the right tools for maximum productivity
  10. Manage the underlying risks
  11. Test the project multiple times for quality assurance
  12. Evaluate the project
  13. Submit the project
  14. Value the feedback from the client
  15. Review

Wrapping Up

Without a project manager with proper management skills, teams and clients are subject to dysfunctional and chaotic administration. It may lead to ambiguous priorities, high risk, low-quality project delivery, projects that run over budget, and late completion of projects.

Great project management is important since successful projects are led by project managers who have received extensive training. Walking in for a project management role without the necessary skills can harm your reputation and career. Therefore, you should opt for good project management courses like the ones offered by MCI Institute. They are offering one of the best Project management courses online Australia.

Good project managers bring together happy and empowered people who feel their job counts and are motivated to do their best. Meanwhile, the team guarantees to deliver a quality project that produces real ROIs and results in happier clients.

Reasons why online teaching is the way forward

April 1, 2021 by Steph Leave a Comment

The invention of the world wide web has changed how our society functions. From healthcare to finance, the internet has revolutionized every industry. However, the educational sector has had the most radical change in recent times. In the last few years, educationists moved from traditional classrooms towards online education. It was inevitable to think of conventional classrooms during the pandemic.

Both the mode of instruction and the ways of interaction have undergone an enduring change. And educators faced many issues during the online transition. When tragedy struck a year ago, few people were ready to make the shift efficiently. But, even before the pandemic online learning was on the rise. More than 3 million students enrolled in online programs during 2019. And six million students were taking one online course as part of their degree.

Teachers are using online tools to connect with students. Recorded lectures, discussion forums, and apps such as zoom have replaced traditional classrooms and schools. Furthermore, the move to distance learning has highlighted the gaps in education. Many people are skeptical of this change in the mode of instruction. And undoubtedly, it is a daunting task to disregard years of tradition for something new. But, the future is online. This shift has brought an unexpected change in marketing strategies as well. Online marketers have a well-thought plan on the matter. With a mix of SEO tips and digital marketing techniques, educational institutes are trying to improve enrollment facilities. The latest digital marketing strategies are focusing on making online education even more popular.

Advantages of Online learning:

Online learning has many advantages. Not only does it make life easier for the students, but it also makes it easier to teach. We will consider both these types of benefits and reasons why online teaching is the way forward in education.

Advantages for the student:

  1. You can study whenever: The foremost advantage of online learning is you can read whenever you want. No matter if you are a night owl or a morning person, you can make your schedule. Research shows that everyone has distinctive sleep patterns. Therefore, everyone is efficient at different times. With an online class, you can study at your convenience and routine.
  2. You can study from anywhere: Perhaps one of the most significant differences in online classrooms is that you can read from anywhere. The only thing that you need is a computer or mobile device and a reliable internet connection. You can write paper online laying on your bed. Furthermore, you save on added expenses such as commuting to college and accommodation. And you do not have to venture out in inclement weather.
  3. You meet people from different countries: An online classroom is a truly global experience. You may have students coming together from all corners of the world to study the same subject. Therefore, you will have an enriched learning experience and meet with diverse people.
  4. You can become comfortable: Many people find large classrooms intimidating. With an online classroom, you have one degree of separation from others. Therefore, you will be more comfortable speaking in an online classroom. You can also discuss things with others on online forums and chat rooms. Furthermore, online courses make it easier for teachers to engage one on one with their students. Research suggests that 90 percent of online instructors find online classes better to connect with their students.
  5. You can work and study simultaneously: Students often have to choose between continuing education and earning a livelihood. Fortunately, online schooling makes things easier—a majority of people learning online work full time. Online education makes it easier to juggle a career with education. You can build your schedule and choose your hours.
  6. Hone your IT skills: Online classes use new technology. So, students access online tools such as voice calls and animations. Most of these online tools are relevant in the job sector as well. Therefore, learning these skills can make you a better employee.
  7. Less expensive: Quality education does not have to cost an arm and a leg. Most online courses are cheaper than traditional degrees. Since you do not invest in classroom materials, you will save on costs. The same is correct for transportation and accommodation. Online colleges also offer cheaper tuition rates as they do not have the same expenses.
  8. Variety of options: Online schools offer several programs. College students can learn anything online, from management to astronomy. So, there is something for everyone. You can also choose your level of education. Opt for a certificate, a diploma, or a degree.
  9. Learn at your pace: While we have mentioned flexibility, we did not say how you can choose your own pace. Not everyone studies at the same speed. Some people have better cognitive skills, while others do not. With online classes, students can set their own pace and choose their mode of learning. They can learn by watching a video, reading a paper, or listening to a lecture.

Advantages for teachers:

  1. Time and location: Teachers do not have to rush to a specific time or place. They can decide to teach from anywhere in the world. They can also choose their timing.
  2. Teaching opportunities: Unlike traditional classrooms, there are many various modes of education. Teachers can teach students through videos or audio. They can also connect with students from different backgrounds.
  3. Better student engagement: Online teachers state that students are more engaged in an online atmosphere. Non-traditional classrooms allow students to have some on one time with their teachers. It also increases student learning and improves their understanding.

Conclusion:

Online teaching is the way forward in education. As the world continues to become more digitalized, we need to adapt to the education sector. Nearly 90 percent of students believe that an online classroom is better than traditional learning centers. However, every student is not well-suited to an online experience. For example, mature students find it challenging to adapt to a virtual classroom. Furthermore, children suffering from attention disorders might not respond well to online learning. Therefore, every student must decide on their own if the online school is the right choice.
