All electricians in Georgia are supposed to get their licenses to work on any type of electrical project. Whether it’s commercial or residential electrical work, only a licensed electrician can work. They handle installing, maintaining, and repairing residential and commercial electrical types of equipment/structures.

What is Georgia Electrical License?

In Georgia, no license is required for an electrician, but if you want to undertake electrician contractor or open your own electrical service company, you need to get your Electrical license from Georgia State Construction Industry Licensing Board.

Electrical Contractor Class II :

This is an unrestricted license which allows the individual to work in all types of electrical systems.

Low Voltage Contractor :

This type of license allows the individual to work on

telecommunication and general electrical and alarm systems.

Renewal of Georgia electricians license :

A licensed electrician in Georgia should renew their license every year on June 30. The license renewal fee will be $75. You will receive a reminder from the Georgia Board of Construction Industry before 8 weeks of expiration. For renewal, you should complete your continuing education course before June 30 to avoid your license expiration.

Electrical Continuing Education :

  • 4-hour continuing education includes,
