The advent of the COVID pandemic wreaked havoc on lives and turned bustling cities into ghost towns with lockdowns. Thanks to the medical and research fraternity’s dedication, the world is finally starting to see the light at the end of this tunnel.
The administration of COVID vaccines has started the world over. With millions getting their doses, the end of the pandemic’s worst seems to be right around the corner. Mass vaccination drives are ensuring timely protection.
Now, governments have started rolling out Vaccine ID to those who have received their dosage. It is to inform others that the person has taken the vaccine for COVID and can therefore be allowed into places that permit vaccinated persons. Since these vaccination cards are so important, they must best get encased in a vaccination card holder for protection.
How to Best Protect the Proof That You’re Protected
Vaccination cards are essentially just pieces of paper, making them vulnerable to a host of dangers like spills, tears, crumbling, etc. They need a vaccination cardholder with the kind of features that can protect them against all those vulnerabilities. Fortunately, the market has answered the call for the same. One can get the best holder for their card by knowing what to look for in them.
Check the Material
The material the holder is manufactured from will determine its protective capabilities. However, any random material can’t get chosen as it needs to be cheap and transparent to let people view the card. Plastic best fits the criteria here, and so your holder of choice will in all likelihood be made of it.
Plastic comes in a variety of densities. Light, flexible plastic tends to be the choice for cardholder manufacturing. In rare cases, one might find a rigid plastic holder with a flexible card slot too. Faux and actual leather holders with plastic fronts are also present.
Look at the Construction
Whatever the material, if the holder’s construction is poor, it is bound to fail. Choose a holder whose construction is robust enough to withstand the damages it could undergo while keeping the card intact. All the panels must be rigidly attached, and the lanyard eyelet must not tear when excess force gets applied to it.
Is It Waterproof?
Plastic by nature is waterproof, or at least water-resistant. Therefore, there is little chance of water entering the card inside when you’re getting drenched in light to medium showers. Ensure that the card is tucked in well in its slot, and the opening for its insertion has a negligible gap for water to enter. Pick one whose tension alone seals the opening tight.
Lanyard/Clip
The holder must come with a lanyard to carry it around easily. This lanyard must be of a durable and flexible material like nylon. It must be long enough to let the cardholder hang freely from the neck and have the facility to tighten it to the user’s preference.
A clip must also be present alongside or in place of the lanyard. It must preferably be of metal construction to make it durable. It must have the grip to latch onto all sorts of surfaces and prevent slippage of the holder.
What About the Price?
A simple cardholder shouldn’t cost a pretty penny. Don’t buy it if you feel the price is too high for what you’re getting. Look for deals that will give you two or more for a discount.
The fight for freedom from COVID continues, and everyone must do their part to win it. Vaccinated persons can use a good vaccination cardholder to display that they’ve played their role in the battle.
