Subtraction means to subtract or separate a portion from the given quantity. A '-' sign is used to denote subtraction. Here are some of the properties of subtraction:
1. Closure Property
According to this property, when two integers are subtracted then the difference will also be a integer.
e.g, 3 - 2 = 1
2. Commutative Property
The Commutative Property does not hold true for subtraction i.e, when two integers are subtracted, the result changes with the change in the order of the integers.
e.g, 3 - 5 ≠ 5 - 3
3. Associative Property
The Associative Property does not hold true for subtraction i.e, when three integers are subtracted, the result changes as the Position of the brackets of the operators changes.
e.g, 3 - (5 - 2) ≠ (5 - 3) - 2
4. Identity Property
The identity property states that there is a Integer '0' such that when this number gets subtracted from any other integer then the result will be the other integer.
e.g, 3 - 0 = 3
