# Ordering Whole Numbers

Whole numbers can be placed in an order. The whole numbers are ordered by a any Whole Number before, between or after the given Set of whole numbers. The whole numbers can be ordered easily by arranging them in a number line. The whole numbers can be ordered in two ways: ascending order and descending order.

1. Ascending Order

In ascending order the numbers are arranged from its lowest value to its highest value. A number line is drawn starting with the lowest value and ending with highest value. The other numbers are also plotted between the highest and lowest value. Then writing the numbers in the same order as plotted in the number line gives the ascending order. Arranging whole number in ascending order can be explained by an example:

2. Descending Order

In descending order the numbers are arranged from its highest value to its lowest value. A number line is drawn starting with the lowest value and ending with highest value. The other numbers are also plotted between the highest and lowest value. Then writing the numbers in the reverse order as plotted in the number line gives the descending order. Arranging whole number in descending order can be explained by an example:
