A Scalene Triangle can be defined as a type of triangle in which all sides are of different length. In other words each side length of triangle is different. Here we will see how to draw a scalene triangle. We need to follow some steps to plot a scalene triangle which is shown below:
Step 1: To plot a scalene triangle first of all takes three line segment of different length and vertices of triangle P, Q and R.
Step 2: Now assume a Point 'P' which is one vertex of triangle. Now using compass measure the length of Line Segment and that Line Segment will become new base of triangle.
Step 3: From point 'P' make an arc where we want to draw base of triangle and mark point 'Q' on arc. This will be another vertex of new triangle.
Step 4: Then using compass measure the length of other line segment. Put compass on point 'P' and make an arc where third vertex of triangle will be. Using compass measure the length of third line segment and that line segment is third side's length of triangle.
Step 5: From point 'Q' make an arc that crosses first line.
Step 6: With help of scale draw all three vertices PQ, PR, QR of new triangle. This is how we can draw scalene triangle. Now we will discuss some properties of scalene triangle.
Area– To find area of scalene triangle best method is heron’s formula. Formula for finding area of scalene triangle is given by:
Suppose a, b, c be length of all sides of triangle. Then area of scalene triangle is given by-
Area = √s(s – a) (s – b) (s – c), Where ‘s’ represents half of perimeter. Formula to find perimeter is given by:
