How to Construct a Rectangle?

In mathematical Geometry, Rectangle is a four sided closed figure that has two pairs of equal sides which are opposite to each other. The interior angles of a Rectangle are of 90 degree or all angles are right angles. The opposite sides of a rectangle are parallel to each other and also alternate sides are of equal length. It can be called as a kind of quadrilateral. Now we will see how to construct a rectangle. We need to follow some steps to plot a rectangle.
Step 1: To plot a rectangle first of all we draw a line segment (L) of any length.
Step 2: Then mark points 'A' and 'B' on Line Segment.
Step 3: Now from Point 'A' draw a line perpendicular to segment 'L'. Then using compass, draw an arc on upper side of Line Segment for drawing perpendicular line and name the point as 'C'.
Step 4: Apply same procedure from point 'B' and name that point as 'D'.
Step 5: Make same length arc from point 'A' and 'B' and mark points 'E' and 'F.'
Step 6: Using scale we will join the point 'E' and 'F'. When we join all points then we get required rectangle. This is how we draw a rectangle.
There are different properties of rectangle which are discussed below:
The alternate sides of rectangle are parallel to each other.
All the angles of a rectangle are 90 degree.
The area of a rectangle is given by: area of rectangle = L * B, Here 'L' denotes the length and 'H' denotes the height of a rectangle.
This is all about the properties of a rectangle.
