How Many Angles Does a Triangle Have?

Triangle can be defined as three sided closed figure or we can say triangle is a three sided Polygon. There are different types of Triangles like Equilateral Triangle, isosceles triangle and Scalene Triangle.

An equilateral triangle is a triangle which has all sides of equal length and all angles are of also equal measure. Isosceles triangle is a triangle in which two sides are of equal length and two angles are of equal measure. Scalene triangle is a triangle which has all sides of different length and all angles are of different measure. Now we will see how many angles does a triangle have.

As we know that a triangle has 3 sides and 3 vertices and each vertex has one angle in them and therefore there are total of 3 angles in a triangle.

The sum of angles of a triangle is equals to 180 0. Suppose we have a triangle ABC with three angles A, B and C at each vertex respectively then sum of these three angles will be equals to 180 0,

or

Angle A + Angle B + Angle C = 180.

We can find the measure of third angle if measure of other to angles is known.

Like if angle A = 40 0, angle B = 60then we can find third angle C as shown below:

A + B + C = 180,

=> C = 180 – A – B

=> C= 180 – 40 – 60

=> C = 80

Therefore angle C is equals to 800.

So From above discussion we can say that there are total of three angles in a triangle, whose sum is equals to 1800.
