Geometric Solids

Geometric Solid is a three dimensional space or geometric solids are three dimensional figures, which includes polyhedral, pyramids, prism, cylinder, cones, sphere, ellipsoids etc. It also includes the points, lines, shapes, and regions in relation to solids and surfaces. There are five geometric solid which can be made by using a regular Polygon and it is having the same number of polygons which meet at each of the corner. The five geometric solids are tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedrons. These all are also known as platonic solids.

In the tetrahedron, the number of faces is four. Its shape is just like an Equilateral Triangle. We can say it is 3- sided and the number of faces present at each vertex is three and the four vertices present in the tetrahedron. Number of edges present in tetrahedron is six.

In the case of Cube, cube having six faces. It is just like a Square or it is four sided. Three faces are present at each of the vertex. Number of vertices in a cube is eight. Number of edges is twelve.

In the case of octahedron, octahedron having eight faces. It is just like an equilateral triangle or it is three sided. Four faces are present at each of the vertex. Number of vertices in an octahedron is six. Number of edges in octahedron is twelve.
In the case of dodecahedron, dodecahedron having twelve faces. It is just like a regular pentagon or it is five sided. Three faces are present at each of the vertex. Number of vertices in a dodecahedron is twenty. Number of edges in dodecahedron is thirty.

In the case of icosahedrons, Icosahedrons is having twenty faces. It is just like an equilateral triangle or it is three sided. Five faces are present at each of the vertex. Number of vertices in icosahedrons is twelve. Number of edges in icosahedrons is thirty.

Pictures of Geometric Solids

Geometric Solid refers to solid three dimensional entities that exist in the real world, which can be touched and which can be felt. It deals with the calculations and measurements of various figures that actually exist. Thus a solid Geometry is nothing but Set of three dimensional figures that involves measurements of different sides and angles involved in ...Read More

Prisms

A prism is a collection of 3 or more cross section objects like triangular prism is a collection of 3 cross section objects; square prism is a collection of 3 cross section objects. Now we discuss prism Geometry of all kind of prism...Read More

Properties of Geometric Solids

Geometric Solid is a three dimensional space or we can say all geometric solids have three dimensional shapes. The geometric solids are: polyhedron, pyramids, prism, cylinder, cones, sphere, ellipsoids etc. all these have three dimensional shapes.
Now we see some properties of geometric solids which are:
Face: Geometric solids have flat surface or we can...Read More

Sphere

In Geometry, we studied about lots of geometrical shape and figures which are formed on two dimensional planes. In the geometry some of the figures are available that are represented or formed on the three dimensional plane. A spher...Read More

Right Circular Cylinder

A right circular cylinder has its base perpendicular to its sides. If the line joining the centers of the Circles of a given cylinder is perpendicular to the bases, and then the cylinder is known as right circular c...Read More

Pyramids

When 3 or more triangular faces share a common vertex and make a Geometry, which is called as a pyramid. The base of a pyramid may be any triangle shape, square shape or any other Polygon shape. If base of pyramid have triangle sh...Read More

Cuboid

Cuboid is a Solid geometrical object, which is defined in 3 d, means we define cuboid in 3 dimension view and proper cuboid definition is– A solid 3 d Geometry, whose all sides are not equal means length, width and height of cuboids...Read More

Cubes

Cubes in maths is a Solid geometrical shape, whose all sides are of equal length means length, width and height of cubes are of equal length. All sided (length, height and width) of cubes are defined in 3d (3 dimension), that’s why w...Read More

Right Circular Cones

A line is used to join the vertex to the midpoint of a circular base is known as right circular cone. Right circular Cones are three dimensional surfaces having circular base and only one vertex or a right circular con...Read More
