Definition of Subtrahend

According to the definition of subtrahend, the quantity or number to be subtracted from another quantity or number(Minuend) is known as subtrahend. The other definitions for subtrahend are :

1. The number to be subtracted is subtrahend.
2. The number that is subtracted from the minuend is subtrahend.

Minuend - Subtrahend = Difference

Examples:

1. 10 - 4 = 6; 4 is the subtrahend.
2. 243 - 42 = 201; 42 is the subtrahend.
3. x - 9 = 5; 9 is the subtrahend.
4. a - b = 21; b is the subtrahend.
