Definition of Minuend

According to the definition of minuend, the quantity or number from which another quantity or number(Subtrahend) is to be subtracted is known as minuend. The other definitions for minuend are:

  1. The numbers to be reduced or diminished is minuend.
  2. The Numbers that will subtract the subtrahend is minuend.

Minuend - Subtrahend = Difference


Examples:

  1. 10 - 4 = 6; 10 is the minuend.
  2. 243 - 42 = 201; 243 is the minuend.
  3. x - 9 = 5; x is the minuend.
  4. a - b = 21; a is the minuend.
