Angle And Angle Pairs

If two rays, start from the same starting Point and goes in different directions, then the distance between the two rays is termed as an angle. The unit of measuring an angle is called degrees, so we say that angles are measured in degrees. We also use the unit of radians, minutes and seconds to measure the angles.
Angle

Angles can be of different types. The point of meeting of the two rays of the angle is called vertex. We know that when the two or more angles are joined together, they form different Types of Angles as: adjacent angles, complementary angles, supplementary angles, linear pair etc.

Adjacent Angles: A pair of Adjacent Angles is the angles, which start from the same vertex and has one common arm and 2 uncommon arms.  We must also remember that the pair of adjacent angles should have the common arm in between the uncommon arms.
Adjacent Angles

Complementary Angles: A pair of two angles is said to be complementary, when we find the sum of two angles is 90 degrees. Also sometimes if we need to find the complementary of any angle, we will subtract the first angle by 90 degrees and get the complement of the given angle. So we say that the complement of 30 degree is 90 – 30 = 60 degrees. So we observe that a pair of complementary angles forms a Right Angle.
Complementary Angles

Supplementary Angles: A pair of two angles is supplementary, when we find the sum of two angles is 180 degrees. Also sometimes if we need to find the supplementary of any angle, we will subtract the first angle by 1800 degrees and get the supplementary of the given angle. So we say that the complement of 30 degree is 180 – 30 = 150 degrees. So we observe that a pair of Supplementary Angles forms a straight angle.
Supplementary Angles
Linear Pair: Two supplementary angles form a linear pair.

When we pair two angles, it means the two angles are joined together and the area occupied by the two angles is uncommon. It indicates that the common Ray of such two angles must always lie in between the two uncommon rays.
